INTEGRITAS DAN ISLAMISASI ILMU PENGETAHUAN

There has long been controversy about the integration and Islamization of knowledge. However, the discussion is directly relevant to how Islamic thought will evolve in the future. Despite the inevitable controversy that may persistently undermine Muslim identity, this paper makes an effort to systematically define the Islamization of knowledge. The article was created using the literature review methodology, which concentrates on specific study features using the pertinent literature. The notion of integration and Islamization of knowledge by Ismail Ragi'i al-Faruqi, Syed M. Naguib al-Attas, and Mulyadhi Kartanegara is the only topic covered in the pertinent references. It is discovered that, Al-Faruqi’s claim, the attempt of Islamization of knowledge was started to demonstrate the necessity of creating a knowledge system that is consistent with Islamic teachings. Then, according to al-Attas, this Islamization endeavor cannot be carried out solely through the study and teaching of Islamic concepts, but rather, it must be carried out through the development of Islamic educational institutions. In the meantime, Kartanegara claimed that the integration of knowledge is an effort to defend religion from Western intellectual and scientific attacks, which frequently lean toward materialistic secularism
