Abstract

This thesis is motivated by the process of learning activities carried out in Class VIIIB in the Akidah Akhlak Subject at MTs Asy-Syafi'iyah Pinggir which still relies on lectures, questions and answers and recitations which only make students passive in learning and less interested in participating in the learning process. Learning needs to lead to the creation of student learning processes using card sort learning strategies. The card sort strategy is a strategy that creates cooperative learning conditions, helps each other and takes responsibility in completing tasks given through card games. This study is intended to answer the following problems: 1) How to use the card sort strategy to increase students' active learning in class VIIIB MTs Asy-Syafi'iyah Pinggir Aqidah Akhlak subject? 2) Can the use of the card sort strategy increase the activeness of students learning in the Aqidah Akhlak class VIIIB MTs Asy-Syafi'iyah Pinggir subject? These problems were discussed through classroom action research which was carried out through 2 cycles with each cycle of stages being planning, action, observation and reflection. The results of the study show that the Card Sort Strategy can increase student learning activeness in the Aqidah Akhlak subject in class VIIIB MTs Asy-Syafi'iyah Pinggir. Student activity increased at each learning stage with a percentage of 76% in cycle I, and 92.5% in cycle II. By applying the Card Sort Strategy it also shows students' learning abilities very well, so that students' abilities in understanding the material of aqidah morals experience an increase in each cycle.
