Students’ Reading Comprehension through the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) Method Among Seventh-Grade Students at SMPS IT IDBS Pinggir

The purpose of this study was to determine “An Analysis of Students’ Reading Comprehension in a Think-Pair-Share (TPS) Method among Seventh-Grade Students at SMPS IT IDBS Pinggir” investigated students’ reading comprehension of the English text Book Bupena Merdeka. The subject of this research was the seventh-grade students of SMPS IT IDBS Pinggir, and the object of this research was their reading comprehension of the English text Book Bupena Merdeka. The total number of students in the research was 34. The population is lower than 100, the researcher can take all of the population as the sample. The technique was a quantitative research approach and descriptive research design. Getting the data from the test. The result of the study showed that the students’ mean scores in reading comprehension using the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) method with the ‘Bupena Merdeka’ English textbook was 16 (47%) of students got an Excellent level in the test, in Very Good level there are 8 (24%) students of the test, in Good level there are 9 (26%) students in test, and the last 1 (3%) Bad level students in the test. The total score of the students were 2765. So, the average score of students were 81,32. Based on the scored above in the Students’ Reading Comprehension in a The Think-Pair-Share (TPS) Method, the seventh-grade students of SMPS IT IDBS Pinggir fall to a very good level. It means that the students can increase their reading comprehension of the English text Book Bupena Merdeka.
